US-50--the Loneliest Road
So we left Albuquerque and decided to take a scenic route, rather than I-40. We went north to Colorado, then went east on US-50, the old Santa Fe Trail. We were grateful to not be in a covered wagon! This route was really peaceful--no trucks, no traffic, no billboards.
We spent the first night in Dodge City, Kansas, then went on to Kansas City.

This is the brew house. We saw, but couldn't photograph, the tanks where they do the beechwood aging. Each tank holds 200,000 six-packs. They make an unfathomably huge amount of beer there.
